Radiology
At Al Emadi Hospital, Department of Radiology provides a complete array of diagnostic
imaging services like MRI & CT Scan for uninterrupted patient diagnosis and care in support
& commitment to excellence in medical care in Doha. Our Radiology division provides state-
of-the-art diagnostic imaging services for patients using Multidetector computed tomography
(CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography (US) with Doppler studies,
fluoroscopy and conventional radiography (X-ray). We also perform a wide variety of
therapeutic interventional procedures using advanced image-guided techniques. We care for
a diverse range of patients, providing extensive radiology support for in-patient services and
out-patient clinics.
Our centre provides the following diagnostic facilities:
3T, 1.5T (closed) and 0.35T (Open) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines
-
The closed high-field MRI creates clear, concise images of almost any part of the
body, at any angle, without X-Rays. These precise images can lead to early detection
and treatment of diseases, especially brain and nervous system disorders, cancer,
musculoskeletal problems and vascular disease.
-
Our 3 Tesla MRI scanner is among the most advanced equipment in Qatar. This
scanner is very fast, greatly enhancing patient comfort. Together with a 1.5T
scanner, capabilities include advanced brain and spine imaging, breast MRI, MRCP
for non-invasive liver, gallbladder and pancreatic imaging, pelvis (uterus, ovaries,
prostate) and musculoskeletal imaging. We also have a 0.35T open scanner for
patients with claustrophobia (fear of being in a closed space).
160 Slice and 16 slice CT Scanners
-
The 160 Slice Cardiac CT Scanner is the ultimate CT solution for cardiovascular and
whole body imaging. It fuses the latest and fastest multi-slice technology for
dedicated clinical applications, giving excellent image quality. The large bore CT
scanner is capable of doing 2D and 3D imaging within a very short time. We perform
cerebral, pulmonary and cardiac-coronary CT angiographies.
High end Ultrasound machines
-
The department offers ultrasound scans for abdomen and pelvis, pregnancy
(obstetric scans including 4D scans), breast, joints (musculoskeletal scans), neck,
local parts and various color Doppler studies (of neck arteries, peripheral vessels,
abdominal and renal vessels).
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy refers to use of x-rays in order to capture cine or real-time images of an
organ while it is functioning. This is done using a special x-ray machine. It is considered
particularly useful in gastro-intestinal imaging. Some common fluoroscopic procedures
include:
-
Barium swallow and barium meal.
-
Barium enema
-
Injecting urethrogram and micturating cystogram (MCU)
-
Hysterosalpingogram (HSG).
Digital Radiography including imaging of all body parts.
Portable X-ray
Digital mammography.
Bone densitometry for evaluation of osteoporosis.
4D panorama X Ray.
